Motherland Bliss

Paris can sometimes feel a bit threatening... as beautiful as the city itself is,
sometimes the general population is less than accommodating, and sometimes I
feel like I am just a little girl fending for herself in a big and scary city. I find
nothing more relaxing than touching down on English soil.. the people are lovely
and warm, we speak the same language and technically I AM actually British
(even though Luke refuses to believe its true. Just look at my passport buddy.)
Whats more, comforts from home are readily available at any given Tesco (baked
beans, bacon, Cadbury chocolate. Need I say more?

These April holidays we decided to take the easy way out and head to England to
spend some time with my lovely family, and explore the country side again.

One thing I make sure I do everytime I am in England- Go to a carboot sale.
They are often so unassuming, cute little affairs, where grannies clear out their
cupboards and sell off their incredible clothes/accessories/homewheres for as
little as "oh you can have that lot of junk for a pound love!" Yes please.

I have found some of my most beloved items from humble car boot sales,
including a lovely rose patterned dress for 20p, a cute old 70's cuckoo clock, and
a myriad of jewelery and accessories.

The next incredibly exciting event for our Sunday was the Annual Wolston Duck
Race, put on by the local scouts group. Wolston is a teeny village south of
Coventry where some of my lovely family live. A duck race is just that- only I
epxected to show up and see some real life duck action. Turns out they were just
plastic, but it was still incredibly cute and a lovely way to spend an afternoon
before ducking (pardon the pun) into the pub beer garden for an ice cold cider.
On your marks...
Get set...
GO!!!

We spent a lovely 5 days traveling around England, popping over to Wales, and
exploring what the countryside had to offer. Half the fun was just seeing grass
and open space again! We stayed in a loved little B&B in a cute town we
stumbled upon called Bishops Castle. Our room was built in the 1400's... I was
more than impressed with that.
England, we will be back.
