Just a normal week..

Scaffolding, the Parisian way.
A friend from home asked me to tell her what my favourite Paris adventure was
this week. This week was a tough one though, because really, the week has been
just the same as any other...
I mean, I guess we did drink a bottle of champagne in the sun sitting on
Ile-St-Louis (my favourite spot in Paris), and then go and get ice cream
(Mandarin, Apricot, Chocolate & Praline flavored) from Bertillon. And I suppose
we did spend a morning sitting in the Luxembourg gardens, just hanging out
watching the kids on school holidays playing with sailboats on the lake. And then
we did see heaps of our friends, went out for Indian, went out for Japanese, went
to a cafe and bumped into about 20 people, had mint tea at the mosque, had
lunch at cafe des Philosophes in Le Marais, and I did go to the hammam with my
ladies.
Just a regular, ordinary week in the life of...
In all honesty though, this week has made me realise that when it is time to pack
up our little 15m2 in Paris and get on a plane back home, a part of me is going to
be really sad. I feel like I know this place so well know... I know how to get
around, I undersand when people make references to street names, or cafe's or
shops, or areas. I feel like now I am really settled here. I feel like I could stay if I
had to...I have realized that there are some really awful things about Paris that
make me miss home so much, but at the same time the beauty here is
undeniable, and once you know how to navigate past the yucky to discover the
incredible, it really is an amazing city.
Paris, Je t'aime.
