From our first day in Paris, I have been desperate to be super touristy and get a
boat down the Seine. Without a job, and with savings quickly becoming
spendings (dad joke, I know) we decided to wait until money was a bit easier to
come by before we spent the grand sum of 20euros on an unneccessary boat
trip. Luke has had a bit of random work lately, and yesterday was sunny and
(sort of) warm for about 10 minutes, so we grabbed life by the horns and bought
the darn tickets! It was brilliant.
It was such a better way to see Paris than by metro which I seem to spend half
my days on. Don't get me wrong, it is so handy and cheap, but it means that I
have absolutely no concept of where things are in Paris in relation to one another.
Thus I often catch the metro places that would have been much easier to walk to,
or I do the opposite and try to walk somewhere which is actually quite far away.
I tracked our journey on my mini Paris map and now I think me and the city are
a bit better oriented.
