Hemingway

I had a lovely day in Paris today, despite the gloomy weather. I don't have any
photos to prove it yet, but helping a photographer friend who needed romantic
shots of a couple in Paris (I know, what a pain to have to pose for cute photos all
morning and then reap the benefits of an awesome photographer?) we had some
time to kill in the 7th for the afternoon. We visited l'Hotel des Invalides which
houses Napoleons tomb. It was intersting, and always a delight to cross another
thing off the ever increasing "Paris To-Do List".

We popped passed Shakespeare and Co. in the afternoon to pick up a book I've
been meaning to buy for a while now. "A Moveable Feast" by Ernest Hemingway
documents the writers time in Paris as a young and poor man, living on none
other than Rue Mouffetard. That's my street! The book even recounts how he had
to catch pigeons at the bottom of Mouffetard to eat when he was too poor to buy
food.

"I walk down past the Lycee Henri Quatre and the ancient church of St-Etienne
Du-Mont and the windswept place du Pantheon..." As I read this phrase and
traced the path out in my mind I suddenly realised... thats the way I walk to uni
everyday! This phrase may mean nothing to you now, but as soon as this
weather clears up I am employing my full time photographer to walk to uni with
me and show you the sights of one of the most historic 5 minute walks in Paris.

I still can't believe we are lucky enough to live here.
