Un jour à Giverny

On Saturday we took the train 45 minutes out of Paris and hopped of at Vernon.
We headed for Giverny, the house were Monet lived and painted some of his most
famous works, the Waterlilies.  We hired bikes at the station, and took far too
long to ride the 7km to his house (we stopped for warm Pain au Chocolat, who
can blame us?). The garden was in full bloom, and his house looked like
something out of a picture book. The area was so beautiful and picturesque!
Riding around the countryside on bikes was simply divine.

I used to look at this painting at my Nan's house when
I was little.. it was lovely to see the scene in real life.

Only one thing almost spoiled the day... handbags and bikes don't mix. Unless
you have the Parisian chic gene that I do... convert handbag into backpack!!
Winner!
